United College Ministries’ staff, volunteers, and supporters work by the grace of God to serve students and faculty across the Northern Virginia area, and we strive to shape our work into an unique ministry model to benefit the total Christian community. Our ministry does not simply focus on the campus but spans the relationship from campus to the community. As such, we are highly effective in responding to colleges and universities with large commuting student populations. Currently, our programs are focused on the campuses and surrounding communities of George Mason University and Northern Virginia Community College. However, our door is open to all students and people involved in higher education. Click here for volunteer application.
Our programs are divided into four interdependent areas. 1. Support: Care for the individual spiritual needs of students and other college members 2. Fellowship: Bring people together in an environment of sharing and growth 3. Training: Teach students to live self-sacrificing lives in service to other as Jesus did 4. Involvement: Bring people into the community of Christians on and off campus
Our mission in all our endeavors is to: • Share God’s universal love as revealed in Jesus Christ with the campus communities of Northern Virginia • Encourage students and others in their intellectual and spiritual journey • Cultivate service to others as a way of life • Affirm the dignity of all people, foster reconcilement among those who are alienated, and nourish multi-cultural experiences of inclusive community • Advocate for peace with justice in personal, social, and international life • Witness to the unity of the human family
We warmly welcome all students, faculty, college staff, churches, and other individuals who are interested in our mission and our services.
